I just came back from a spectacular week-long conference in Dallas at the eWomen Conference.
What an incredible experience to be in the company of a couple thousand like-minded female entrepreneurs.
I got to hear so many powerful and admirable people speak on a variety of topics that are near and dear to my heart. I heard Jack Canfield, Lisa Nichols, Lisa Sasevich, Sandra Yancey, etc.
I sat front row at Jack Canfield and Lisa Nichols and made sure I introduced myself to them and many other people I respect.
I interviewed several women who are successful and confident and will be posting those interviews in a separate post.
I wanted to share some of the points that were touched on by Jack and Lisa and Lisa.
Lisa Sasevich talked about the importance of investing in yourself. She gave a great analogy:
We must always take action, swinging in between 2 trapeze bars is no place to be! If you can’t see the other bar, it’s best to take the leap anyways and just let go instead of holding on to the same bar and NOT letting go. She shared this great quote from Maxwell Maltz:
“A step in the wrong direction is better than staying in one spot all your life.
Once you’re moving forward you can correct your course as you go. Your automatic guidance system cannot guide you when you’re standing still.”
The power is in the present and in taking action today!
Jack Canfield said LOTS of powerful and insightful things. I loved this quote he said: “Most everything that you want is just outside your comfort zone.”
And I totally resonated with what he said about his Success Principles:
Principle #1: TAKE 100% RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR LIFE.
He stated that the events in life and our response to those events will result in a specific outcome. His formula is: E + R = O
For those of you who are not, the formula is E (Events) + R (Response) = O(Outcome). The formula states that our response to every event we experience in
our lives determines the outcome. If we don’t like the outcomes we have, we can either blame the event (E) for the outcome (O) or we can change our response
(R) to the event (E) until we get the outcome we WANT to have(O).
our lives determines the outcome. If we don’t like the outcomes we have, we can either blame the event (E) for the outcome (O) or we can change our response
(R) to the event (E) until we get the outcome we WANT to have(O).
Whether it’s the bad economy or a traffic jam or unpleasant weather, these EVENTS are going to happen anyway. We can’t change them. But what we CAN change – is how we RESPOND to the event.
We all have the ability to make a choice. Is the 2 hour traffic jam a real pain and you will get home late? Or do you see it as an opportunity to listen to that audio CD that you haven’t made the time yet to listen to?
And Lisa Nichols was such a power-house speaker! Her talk was about being the best version of yourself.
A few of Lisa’s words of wisdom that I wanted to share with you:
“This is the season for me to be me. I am going to stand in my power and my gift and let the whole world see the real me. I am not going to ask for permission to be fabulous, I’m
just going to give notice.
just going to give notice.
It’s my divine design and my responsibility to be as fabulous and great as I’ve been created to be.
Ask yourself: Who do you get to be?
Who do we get to be? How big can you really play? When you are doing what you love.
What is unfolding for you in your future?
You are living in the 2008 version of you, what is your 2020 version of you?
Who I’ve been doesn’t matter, who I’m going be is more important.
I’m not worried about your opinion of me because your opinion of me is none of my business!”
She is amazing! I spent 3 hours hanging out with her in her hotel suite, I sat right beside her as she spoke to a small group of women wanting to become global leaders and I was really impressed by her sincerity and passion to create change for women.
I can’t wait to share a stage with her one day! 🙂
Here’s a video I made at John Deely Park in downtown Dallas, Texas at the John F. Kennedy assassination site:
Here’s a bunch of pics from my trip:
In the next couple days, I will be posting the interviews I conducted with VERY successful and confident women.
(My laptop was stolen on my return flight, so everything is taking longer for me to do now, trying to recover everything 🙁 )
