Fun at The Winter Solstice Lantern Festival

The annual Winter Solstice Lantern Festival takes place in five Vancouver neighbourhoods. This was the 18th annual festival! It was so spectacular…illuminating the longest night of the year with lanterns, fire, singing, drumming, music and dancing while honouring many cultural traditions. The five festivals are all free, community-based, and reflect the unique nature of each neighbourhood.
My friends and I celebrated at this free community event at the Yaletown event with tons of glowing constellations of lanterns shining and performers dancing.

It was so beautiful! Here’s some pics, and a short video of one of the performances…
