Confidence
con·fi·dence [kon-fi-duhns] -noun
The faith or trust in one’s own abilities, decisions and intuition.
A feeling of certainty, knowing that you are a valuable individual.
People with high self-confidence typically have little fear of the unknown, are able to stand up for what they believe in, and have the courage to risk embarrassment. Someone who is confident is not necessarily loud, outspoken, or reckless.
“You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, ‘I have lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.’ You must do the thing you think you cannot do.”
- Eleanor Roosevelt (1884-1962)
